Naha Mint Mouknass w/the Malian Foreign Minister Moctar Ouane
Naha Mint Mouknass is the first woman to be elected as party leader in the entire history of Mauritania. She was born in Nouakchott in 1969, the daughter of Hamdi Ould Mouknass the leader of the UDP party. After the obention of her bacaulaureate she went to study in Dakar. Unfortunately because of the many student strikes , she moved to France to study management. She worked briefly both in France, and later on in England withHSBC.
Home started calling, she worked besides her father until his death. As a mark of respect and loyalty to her father, the party decided to nominate her as the new party leader.
In 2001 , she was nominated as an adivsor to the President. Under the leadership of Maaouiya Ould Taya, she became a minister/adviser.
She currently is the Minister of Foreign Affairs under the leadership of the actual president Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz. Naha Mint Mouknass went through a delicate political time when Al Qaeda kidnapped 2 Italians in December in Mauritania and claimed the French embassy bombing in Nouakchott. The couple was released this past month bringing relief internationally.
I read some criticism abt her and her father who's said to be an esclavagist, don't know if it's true or not but hope that it isn't.
Whatever the case this married woman is truly inspiring:)

Djaaa our Mauritanian sistas sont trop dedans:)
Eyeee Wayee:)
