EMMA ADIEI DOING HER THANG ON FRENCH TV!!

On Set

Emma Adiei is from Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire, she's a TV presentateur on Chanel 8 ...

She moved to France early 2000 with the goal of obtaining a Master's degree in Communication, there in Paris with her love for words she started writing for mags ect..

When the tv station Direct 8 launched, she became one of the new faces, the great thing abt that chanel was the fact that they were not afraid to show France as it , immigrants, Caucasians ect...

Her show was called "Boites de N'Huit", it was a "crazy " fun show, the studio was turned into a night club and her guests were party people, fashionistas ect....
But what she was more proud is her second show called "Court mais bon" she was given the liberty to direct as she wishes, she basically produced it,Emma showcased on her show "short movies" ect....

OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT-5 MORE DAYS UNTIL ELECTION

I kow it's cute when we say Obama for President bla bla but get to know Senator Obama 's agendy, see what issues he adresses them.
I wanted to know and this is what I find out about certain issues that I felt are important to me:

-Immigration
*Improve our immigration system:
Obama and Biden believe we must fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill.

*Bring people out of the shadows:
Obama and Biden support a system that requires undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens

-Women:
*Strengthening Domestic Violence Laws:
Approximately 1,400 women a year – four every day – die in the United States as a result of domestic violence. And 132,000 women report that they have been victims of a rape or attempted rape, and it is estimated that an even greater number have been raped, but do not report it. Senator Obama co-sponsored and helped reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. Signed into law in January 2006, the bill funds and helps communities, nonprofit organizations, and police combat domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The legislation establishes a sexual assault services program and provides education grants to prevent domestic violence.

*Fighting Gender Violence Abroad:

The genocide in Darfur has had particularly devastating consequences for women. Tens of thousands of women have been killed, raped, and displaced since the conflict began in 2003. Barack Obama has been a leading voice in Washington urging the end of genocide in Sudan. He worked with Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) on the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act, a version of which was signed into law. Obama has traveled to the United Nations to meet with Sudanese officials and visited refugee camps on the Chad-Sudan border to raise international awareness of the ongoing humanitarian disaster there. He also worked with Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) to secure $20 million for the African Union peacekeeping mission.

*Ending the War in Iraq:
Obama and Biden will change our mission in Iraq and responsibly redeploy our combat brigades in consultation with our commanders and the Iraqi government. We can safely redeploy at a pace that removes our combat brigades in 16 months, with a residual force to target remnants of al Qaeda, to protect our service members and diplomats, and to train Iraq's Security Forces if the Iraqis make political progress. This change in mission will ease the burden on our troops and their families while increasing our flexibility to address more pressing challenges in Afghanistan. The Obama-Biden Plan will also increase diplomacy in the region and act immediately to address the humanitarian crisis in Iraq.

*Making College More Affordable:

www.barackobama.com

Barack Obama and Joe Biden will make college affordable for all Americans by creating a new American Opportunity Tax Credit. This fully refundable credit will ensure that the first $4,000 of a college education is completely free for most Americans, and will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university. Recipients of this credit will be required to conduct 100 hours of public service a year, either during the school year or over the summer months.

A la Lambada

Abla Volta hails from Togo, it's in Lome that she made her first steps as a designer at the age of 18 years...Early nineties she was known locally in Lome but she wanted to pursue an international career
She now lives with her husband and 2 children in France and is slowly but surely establishing herself as a great African designer...

CHIDI OZIEH , CONTEMPORARY NIGERIAN PAINTER!!

" The Angle of Reparation"

"Open Mic Night"

"His and los"

"Forget me Not"

" Autum of Harmony "

"Finding The Root of Love"

I had to stop otherwise I would have posted this brotha's entire portfolio , it's simply amazing, there's almost no need for explanation ..his paintings are so "alive" they speak to you..to me!!!

Chidi is an artist/illustrator from Nigeria, his love story with color started at 7 when his nana took him to the park and told him to pain what he saw..the rest is history he never stopped seeing and painting since that point on...
He's had the chance to live in both the West and Afirika , he says that those experiences have truly enriched him as an artist...

ELIZIO DOIN IT CABO LOVE STYLE!!!

Elizio was born in Angola 29 years ago but his origins are Cap Verdean..

As a hip hop dancer he never really thought of pursuing music until he met Kaysha..

Mr Sushiraw Entertainment saw something in him and asked him to co-write one of my fav' Kaysha songs "Fiona"

Over the years they built a professional and personal relationship ..and the result is here Elizio is an artist under Kaysha's label "Sushiraw"
Cabo love is a musical style that works very much so in France and Afrika , it's zouk with an R&B,sometimes a bit of hip hop feel to it ...

IKKEN JEWELRY-" JE PEUX LE FAIRE" IS THAR RIGHT?

nicee!!

classy piece
even though it's so simple i could see this as a wedding ring

Nice hein , white tankie jeans right?:)

I really like the simplicity and almost austere look of this beautiful line...
Baptiste B. et Patrick H. created this line of ethnik jewelry...

This is how they proceeded helped with a talented artisan who trained 10 Touaregs from Niger under the Yantala Cooperative ,once trained they are free to use their own technicks, IKKEN stands for the respect of the proper rights for workers...like that concept
So they use ebene, galuchat, silver , gold ect....

Here's their webbie:

LA JOLIE GO DU GHANA A LA GUITARE-AKOSUA!!

N

"I tell you, what I do is not for fun. Mostly it is to ease the pressure in my brain. To break through the inane-ness pf life’s misunderstandings. And when I open my mouth to sing you a song, it is because that is the only way I know how to breathe."
Akosua

I think that sums it up, a true artist , is just like you working at a factory or at an office, everything you do with the heart is hard and I think this songstress armed with her guitar from Ghana is a living testimonial of that

She was born and raised in NY and moved to the West Coast after college, she's a songwriter who plays and sing beautiful jazz...Akosua performed at the noted jazz club Jazz Tone in Ghana this year

She's been doing her thang locally in California where she's built a fan base now it's time for other to hear her...
If you like India Arie Nina Simone , Sade, ect you may wanna give her a try..
