I have 2 say that among the American publications, Glamour is 1 of the best. I don't buy it very often, but every time I do i am never disappointed..tones of great info..I love that they talk fashion, entertainment..ect but you always leave learning som' new abt other women..and they always have som' African..let it be an editorial page w/Alek or Atong, or a reportage done somewhere in Congo or in this case in Uganda .

Empowering Hands is a non profit organization organized by African women for other African women..I love that the Jessica Lenz empowered these women who have known despair, death of relatives, fear, anguish while being kidnapped as children soldiers.

Now these women help other women like them who are being rejected by their own families, they help themselves get loans, go back to school, give themselves a second chance and mostly learn to "forgive themselves". I think that people like us who have never had to leave this type of traumatic event, don't grasp how guilty one can feel after such events even though it wasn't their fault...

This reminds me of Keisha Cole's show that I was watching yest' ..her mother is a recovering drug addict and prostitute...and they are a point where they are trying to get their families together...bref.Keysha's mum had to learn to forgive herself for her past mistakes...

Going back to these women, it's fabulous that they are being given second chances to help themselves and mold their lives....

DJAA MY UGANDAN WOMEN ARE SURVIVORS:)
